Booking & Check-In

Information about bookings, payments and check-in.

Q: When do I have to pay a deposit?

A minimum deposit of $200 is required to confirm your booking.

Q: What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 2.30pm through until 6.00pm. If you intend to arrive after 6.00pm, just give us a call to make a special arrangement. Early check-in by arrangement only, and fees may apply. Check-out is no later than 11.00am.

Q: Do you require a security bond upon check-in?

For security purposes, you are required to present a valid Credit/Debit card at check in, against which we will pre-authorise a $200 security bond. Alternatively the security bond can be paid by EFTPOS or cash. The security bond will be released by your bank within 7 days of check-out subject to you having complied with the Conditions of Use. If you pay the bond by EFTPOS or cash you will need to provide bank account details for refund of the bond.

Q: Is after hours check-in available?

Yes, by prior arrangement.

Q: Can I have a late check-out?

Late check-out may be available by arrangement, and fees may apply.

Q: What are the reception hours?

Reception is open 8.00am to 6.00pm, later by arrangement.

Q: Can we bring children to the Retreat?

Hidden Grove Retreat caters for adults and is not generally suitable for children.

Q: Can we bring our baby to the Retreat?

You are most welcome to bring your baby to the Retreat, provided you are aware of the potential hazards including stairs, hot-tub spa & unguarded log fire (winter only). You will need to bring your own baby equipment and advise us at the time of booking that you will be bringing a baby.

Q: Are you pet friendly?

Due to the natural forest environment, no pets of any type are permitted at the Retreat or in your chalet. If you arrive with a pet, you will not be permitted to check- in.

Q: What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

Cancellations made within 7 days of booking arrival date incur a 100% cancellation fee. Cancellations made with more than 7 days notice incur an administration charge of $100.

Services & Facilities FAQ's

General information about our accommodation services and on-site facilities.

Q: Is there Internet or WiFi access available?

Free WiFi with full internet access is available in each chalet.  A daily limit of 100Mb applies.

Q: Is there mobile phone reception?

Mobile phone reception at the chalets is marginal and may not be available at all dependant on your phone, your carrier (Telstra is the best) & the weather conditions. Mobile reception for Telstra & Optus phones is however generally available at the entrance to the property. There is a landline phone available 24/7 outside reception. There is no charge for calls throughout Australia for this service.

Q: Is all linen provided?

All linen is provided including spa towels.

Q: How often are the chalets serviced?

If your stay is for 8 nights or longer, your chalet will be serviced mid-way through your stay including fresh linen. For stays of 7 nights or less, no service is provided.

Q: Is the spa heated?

Each chalet has its own hot-tub spa. If you have booked a chalet with the spa, then it will be fully serviced, pre-heated and ready to enjoy from the moment you arrive!

Q: Is there a restaurant at the Retreat?

We do not have a restaurant at the Retreat. However, there are many good dining options in the area. For those wanting to dine-in, your chalet is fully self contained with full kitchen facilities plus we have an comprehensive room service menu for you to select from if you do not wish to bring your own food.

Gift Vouchers

Information about purchasing and redeeming a Gift Voucher for Hidden Grove Retreat

Q: Do you do Gift Vouchers?

We would be very happy to provide you with a Gift Voucher for a stay at the Retreat.  You are able to purchase a Voucher for a set number of nights stay, or for one of our packages, or simply for a set $ value of your choice.  The voucher is made out to the recipient(s) as advised by you, and delivered to you by mail.  We can also email a copy to you the same day if time is of the essence!  We can make a Voucher suitable for any occasion - just advise us the theme - eg birthday, wedding etc.  Vouchers are valid for stays made up to 6 months from the voucher issue date.

Q: How and when do I pay for a Gift Voucher?

Full payment for the Voucher can be made by credit card over the phone, or alternatively we can take payment by driect credit to our bank account.  We require full payment for the voucher prior to us sending the voucher to you.

Q: How do I make a booking when I have a Gift Voucher?

If you have a Gift Voucher, you will need to telephone us and quote the Voucher number to make a booking for your preferred dates.  We will then send you a booking confirmation by email.  When you check-in you must present the original of the Gift Voucher.

Location FAQ's

General information about our location.

Q: Where are you located?

We are located 55 mins southeast of Bunbury, just off the Donnybrook to Boyup Brook Road.

Q: Are there shops or restaurants nearby?

The nearest shops are located in our three local towns of Donnybrook, Collie & Boyup Brook. You will likely pass through one of these towns on your way to the Retreat. Collie is 25 mins drive and has a good range of shops including Coles, Woolworths & Liquorland, plus an excellent fine dining restaurant as well as numerous other eating options. Donnybrook is 30 mins drive and has an excellent Supa IGA, plus very good butcher & bakers & some excellent cafes. Boyup Brook is 25 mins drive and has an IGA supermarket, two cafes, and a hotel.

Q: Is there public transport nearby?

Unfortunately not. You will need to arrive by car.

Q: What local attractions are in the area?

There is a huge variety of things to see and do in the area, from excellent Geographe Region wineries, to the stunning Ferguson valley with its iconic Gnomesville, Wellington National Park, and a range of charming country towns.
